<p>The present invention concerns Glass fibre of quaternary composition comprising SiO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , CaO, and MgO as major components, characterized by:
€¢ 21,0 < MgO + CaO ‰¤ 35.0 wt%, and
€¢ 27.0 ‰¤ MgO + Al 2 O 3 ‰¤ 45.0 wt%.
It also concerns composite materials reinforced with such fibres, used in applications such as windmill blades, pressure vessels, components in the automotive, machinery, aerospace applications and such products produced therewith.
Preferably, the glass fibre comprises as main components, expressed in wt%, 45-65 SiO 2 , 7-25 Al 2 O 3 , 5-20 CaO, 8-25 MgO.</p> |
