The snowshoe has a climbing bar forming and blocking device (20) comprising a work element (22) pivotally mounted on a frame around a transverse pin located on a rear side of the frame. The work element has a cam forming part cooperating with a corresponding cooperating portion e.g. elastic tooth, associated to the frame and elastically stressed against the cam forming part. The profile of the cam forming part defines three stable positions for the work element respectively corresponding to blocking, normal pivoting and limited pivoting configurations of the device.
