The cover (1) has a web (2) with upper surface (3) and lower surface (4) connected with each other by a wafer (5). The web is made of elastically compressible material. A stiffening unit (6) is utilized for rigidifying the web. The stiffening unit is recessed from the wafer on a portion of periphery of the web such that the cover includes a peripheral band (10) elastically compressed under the effect of horizontal bearing force applied on the wafer. The web is made of polyurethane foam with density ranging between 0.05 and 0.15. The web is realized from polyol based reagent. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a cover.
