The head-rest (4) has a reinforcement (6) made of unique metal wire and partially extending in a cushion (5) made of compressible foam. The reinforcement has a lower part (8) located under a pivoting zone (14) and adapted to be abutted to a backrest (3) of a seat i.e. rear seat (1), when the head-rest is straightened in an usage position for an occupant of the seat. The cushion and the reinforcement are arranged such that the head-rest takes a stable usage position by simple pivotment around the pivoting zone until the lower part of the reinforcement abuts to the backrest of the seat. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a seat for a motor vehicle (2) a method for mounting a head-rest on a seat.
