The device has a male part provided with housing that is provided with a connection element (10) e.g. circular bar, movable in translation with respect to the housing. A female part is provided with housing, so that the device occupies a coupling configuration in which the connection element is partially positioned in each of the two housings, and a separated configuration in which the connection element is placed outside the housing of the female part. A locking unit locks the connection element in each of the two housings in the coupling configuration. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) load supporting sub-elements (2) a method for transporting goods.
