Disclosed is a rope hoist (1), wherein a helical groove (411) of a rope drum (4) is provided with a recessed section (412), which does not have the helical groove, in order to allow a slider part (91) of a rope guide mechanism (9) to spin. A retaining ring (81) is provided on a guide shaft (8) in order to prevent reengagement of the slider part (91) with the helical groove (411) on the terminal side when the slider part (91) spins on the flat part of the recessed section (412) which does not have the helical groove of the rope drum (4). A rope protrusion prevention rib (94) for preventing protrusion of a wire rope (W) is provided in the rope guide mechanism (9).
