PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record programs of a plurality of channels in a storing device and effectively utilize hardware resources of the storing device when programs provided through a network service by a server are also available. SOLUTION: A video recorder 100 includes a recorded program determining section 117a which acquires distribution information indicating a distribution schedule of programs of a plurality of channels and a distribution schedule of programs provided through a communication network NW, and determines based on the distribution information whether the respective programs of the plurality of channels are to be provided through the communication network NW and a recorded program setting section 117b which sets recording of the programs not provided through the communication network NW out of the programs of the plurality of channels, and does not to record the programs provided through the communication network NW out of the programs of the plurality of channels.
