PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and intuitively display a magnified image at the start of magnified image display when the image obtained is displayed in a magnified size by utilizing a portable terminal including a built-in camera like a loupe. SOLUTION: An image magnifying part 103 generates a partially magnified image by magnifying a part of the image picked up by an image pickup part 101. A relative position computing part 102 computes an origin of the portable terminal 100 when the image magnifying operation is started and the present relative position of the portable terminal 100 for the position of the portable terminal 100 when the image magnifying operation is started. An image holding part 104 holds the magnified image when the image magnifying operation is started together with the position information of the magnified image. When the relative position returns again to a position near the origin after leaving the origin, a display control part 105 controls the display part 106 to display the magnified images held in the image holding part 104 in piles on the image picked up by the image pickup part 101.
