PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission processing system that allows line switching even when a transmission processing device for a working line cannot transmit a line-switching signal to a switch because of trouble or a failure of the transmission processing device. SOLUTION: The transmission processing system (1) includes a transmission processing device (a) (11) for a working line and a transmission processing device (b) (12) for a spare line respectively having a SONET/SDH interface, and when line disturbance is detected in the working line in counter equipment, notifies the transmission processing device (a) (11) for the working line of a line switching signal by the APS byte from the transmission processing device (b) (12) for the spare line, and has an APS control device (14) that executes line switching by an APS function on behalf of the transmission processing device (a) (11) for the working line when trouble or a failure occurs in the transmission processing device (a) (11) for the working line.
