PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer excellent in a charging characteristic of positive charging and to provide a method for producing a liquid developer capable of easily producing such a liquid developer. SOLUTION: The method for producing a liquid developer includes a coarse grinding process of coarsely grinding a resin material comprising a polyester resin and a rosin based resin to provide a coarsely ground material and a wet grinding process of performing wet grinding in an insulating liquid comprising polyalkylene imine and a dispersant.
