The device has an electronic control unit (25) for detecting error causing a motor car to drive out of control, and a torque transmission disconnection device disconnecting the transmission of torque by a torque transmission device i.e. automatic transmission, when the error is detected by the control unit. The control unit proceeds a fail-safe-process for limiting a power output of an internal combustion engine (11) and returns the torque transmission device to a condition in which the torque is transferred when the control unit detects the error in the fail-safe process.
