PURPOSE: A carbon fiber nanostructure and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce time and cost required for manufacturing the carbon fiber nanostructure by forming a catalyst on carbon fiber and subsequently forming various kinds of nano structures. CONSTITUTION: A carbon fiber nanostructure includes carbon fiber(10) and one or more carbon nanomaterials(12) which are grown on the surface of the carbon fiber to the crossing direction of the surface of the carbon fiber. A catalyst(121) is formed at the cross section part or the center part of the carbon fiber nanostructure. The catalyst is one or more selected from platinum metal containing palladium, transition metal containing nickel, and the alloy of the same.
