<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a more natural image, by improving accuracy of detecting the saturation of a subject image, thereby improving performance for suppressing a false color in a low-saturation region, and suppressing the occurrence of "missing color" in a high-saturation region. <P>SOLUTION: An image sensor of an imaging unit 2 includes color filters of Bayer array, performs interpolation processing on an image signal of each of pixels input from the image sensor through an interpolator 6 by using image signals of nearby pixels, and captures image signals of R, G, B for each of the pixels. A high frequency component extractor 7 extracts a high frequency component from the G signal, a false color reduction color signal generator 8 determines a false color reduction color signal (R+B-2G) with reduced effect of the false color for each pixel, and a saturation signal generator 9 generates a saturation signal which is an absolute value of the false color reduction color signal. A suppressor 10 suppresses the false color based on the high frequency component extracted by the high frequency component extractor 7 and the pixel saturation signal generated by the saturation signal generator 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
