PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system, host, and device, which can transmit power to be used for data communication and device operation after performing authentication between apparatuses. SOLUTION: The host intermittently transmits a second power smaller than a first power transmitted when data communication is performed, together with a response request signal. When the host receives a response from the device after intermittent transmission of power, it transmits a third power larger than the second power but smaller than the first power, together with the response request signal. When the response from the device includes a charge completion signal, an authentication processing is performed. When the authentication processing is successful, the host transmits the first power. The device, when it receives power together with the response request signal from the host, it transmits a response including a signal indicating whether charging is completed, to the host.
