The device has a pneumatic piston mechanism e.g. damped gas pressure spring (32), for balancing complete weight of a beam (16). A presentation element e.g. projection panel and projector, is provided above a complete lift to hold the beam at a position between two height positions. The pneumatic piston mechanism is arranged in a plane opposite to verticals in an inclined manner, where the plane runs parallel to a plane of the beam. Two ends of the pneumatic piston mechanism are pivotably attached at the beam around a horizontal axis.
