PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain weight saving and size reduction in a photocoupling device maintaining the accuracy of photocoupling. SOLUTION: In a photocoupling device 1, the bottom plate 6a of a package 6 has a thickness of 0.6 mm or less; t ratio of a distance W2 between a Peltier element 5 and a sidewall 6b in a light axis direction to the length W1 of the Peltier element 5 in the light axis direction is more than 0.51; the ratio of the length W3 of a substrate member 4 in the light axis direction to the length W1 of the Peltier element 5 in the light axis direction is 0.85 or less; and the center O2 of the substrate member 4 in the light axis direction is positioned closer to the side wall 6b than to the center O1 of the Peltier element 5 in the light axis direction.
