<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of a negative pressure on a side of a cathode after a stop of power generation of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes: a fuel cell that includes an electrolyte membrane, a cathode layer that is in contact with the electrolyte membrane and that supplies cathode reaction gas containing oxygen, to the electrolyte membrane, and an anode layer that is in contact with the electrolyte membrane on a side opposite to the cathode layer through the electrolyte membrane and that supplies anode reaction gas to the electrolyte membrane; and a pressure regulating portion that, after the stop of power generation of the fuel cell, regulates a total pressure in the cathode layer so that a total partial pressure that is a total of partial pressures of gases, other than an oxygen partial pressure, in the cathode layer is higher than or equal to an atmospheric pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
