PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating device capable of properly heating a metallic workpiece such as casting before coating at a high speed with high heat efficiency, and further suppressing equipment costs and an installation area without developing defects on the coating thereafter. SOLUTION: This heating device applies a powder and granular material as a heat medium, includes fluid beds 3, 4 in which the workpiece is immersed, and a hot air generator 11 generating hot air, and distributing the hot air to the fluid beds to heat and fluidize the heat medium, uses an electrothermal heater as a heating heat source of the hot air generator 11, and is constituted to recover the exhaust gas discharged from the fluid beds 3, 4 and distributing the same to the fluid beds 3, 4 again.
