PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor which reduces secular deterioration, by enhancing an engaging force between a resin member and a metallic member for constituting a tread of a footstep. SOLUTION: A hole 19a is formed on a flange side surface for constituting a projection part of a metallic plate 19 of the footstep, and when coating the resin member 18, part of the resin member 18 is made to enter the hole 19a, to thereby form a meshing part between the metallic plate 19 and the resin member 18. Thus, a load when a person gets on is prevented from directly acting on the meshing part, and damage/deterioration of the meshing part by the repetitive load or the like is reduced, attaining the long service life of the resin member 18.
