Disclosed is a portable terminal which, when brightness measured by a light sensor is in a first state that is below a first threshold, is controlled such that images are displayed at a first luminosity upon each respective display region; when the brightness measured by the light sensor is in a second state that is greater than or equal to the first threshold, the portable terminal is controlled such that a third image that takes into account the content of the first and second images that were respectively displayed upon the respective display regions in the first state is displayed in a first display region at a second luminosity that is greater than the first luminosity, and such that the luminosity of a second display region is a third luminosity that is lower than the first luminosity.
