The invention relates to an optical system, which is used to project a contrast transition formed by a light area, a dark area and a contrast boundary extending between the two areas. For this purpose, the system has a light source and a body refracting the light thereof. A first curved surface of the body has a central boundary line extending substantially parallel to the contrast boundary projected onto the body. Said line delimits at least one pair of areas from one another, the curvatures of which differ from one another for color fringe compensation. According to the invention, additionally adjoining areas having differing curvatures are provided on the first surface of the body along the boundary line.
