Disclosed is a fuel cell (1) which comprises: a fuel electrode (11); an air electrode (14); an electrolyte layer (13) that is arranged between the fuel electrode (11) and the air electrode (14) and contains ceria; and two or more intermediate layers that are arranged between the electrolyte layer (13) and the fuel electrode (11) and contain zirconia. The two or more intermediate layers include a first intermediate layer (18) that contains ceria, and a second intermediate layer (19) that is arranged between the first intermediate layer and the fuel electrode and has a higher zirconia concentration than the first intermediate layer.
