<p>A substance cutter in the form of a tyre cutter 10 comprises cutting action performing equipment 12 in the form of a blade and pulley assembly 20 that includes a cutting edge presenting member 14 in the form of an endless blade 22, holding means for holding a tyre in the form of a tyre holder 16 and an outwardly flaring facility in the form of two wedge shaped tyre stretching formations 18 along which part of the running path of the blade 22 extends. The cutting edge of the blade 22 protrudes from the formations 18 to perform a tyre cutting action once the cutter 10 is in use. The assembly 20 is mounted to a support frame 26 that is displaceably mounted to a base frame 36. The relevant formation 18 ensures that a tyre being cut does not exert a pinching effect on the blade 22.</p> |
