HYBRID CONSTRUCTION MACHINE

A hybrid construction machine comprises: an engine for driving a variable displacement hydraulic pump; hydraulic actuators driven by the hydraulic pressure from the variable displacement hydraulic pump; and a motor generator driven by the electric power from an electricity storage device and assisting the engine. The maximum output of the variable displacement hydraulic pump is higher than or equal to the maximum output of the engine. The motor generator assists the engine when the machine is operated with the output of the variable displacement hydraulic pump set to be higher than the maximum output of the engine.
