PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed controller of a machine tool capable of accurately correcting thermal displacement in a simple structure, highly accurately machining, and reducing an increase of cost required for securing the accuracy. SOLUTION: The machine tool includes a moving table 7 provided to be capable of moving back and forth on a base such as a bed 6 for supporting a workpiece W or a tool 23, a movement drive mechanism 15 for moving the moving table 7 back and forth, and a feed controlling means 33. A linear scale 40 in a local scale range 40a along the moving direction of the moving table 7 is provided on either one of the base and the moving table 7. A sensor 41 for reading the linear scale 40 is provided on the other of the base and the moving table 7.
