PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of assembling operation when attaching a plug frame together with a knob. SOLUTION: The optical connector includes: a plug frame 40; a stop ring 70 provided on the rear side of the plug frame 40, which is opposite to a connecting side; a ferrule 14 provided at least inside the plug frame 40 among the plug frame 40 and the stop ring 70; and a cylindrical knob 50 installed outside the plug frame 40 and connected with the other connector in connection. A knob engagement portion 52 is provided on the inner surface of the knob 50, and a movement regulation portion 42 which regulates forward movement of the knob 50 installed from the rear of the plug frame 40 and a latch portion 48 located posterior to the movement regulation portion are provided on the outer surface of the plug frame 40. The latch portion 48 escapes in installing the knob 50, whereby the knob engagement portion 52 passes through the latch portion 48, and when the knob 50 has been installed, the knob engagement portion 52 is engaged between the movement regulation portion 42 and the latch portion 48.
