Provided is a toy set (100) capable of communication between a game device and a toy without modifying the hardware structure of the game device. The toy set (100) comprises a toy (1) and a storage medium (8). A program stored in the storage medium (8) is constructed to configure, when executed by a control means of the game device (5): a filter means for detecting single-frequency sounds in the device; an output means for outputting speech etc. in response to a detected combination of sounds; a generation means for generating a plurality of single-frequency sounds; and a transmission means for generating a control signal from the combination of sounds and transmitting the control signal from a sound production means of the game device (5). The toy (1) has a sound production means, a speech input means, a control means, and a sensing means provided therein, and outputs speech in response to an operation. The control means is provided with a generation means for generating a plurality of single-frequency sounds, and the control means is constructed to generate a control signal from the combination of sounds and transmit the control signal from the sound production means of the toy. The toy (1) inputs the control signal from the game device (5) and performs a predetermined operation in response to said signal.
