Disclosed is an image pickup system, which has an image sensor (53) (solid-state image pickup device), which outputs, as image pickup signals (S1), light inputted from a subject. The image pickup system is provided with a digital signal processing circuit (10) (signal processing unit), which generates YC signals (S2) (image signals), which are generated by performing signal processing to the image pickup signals (S1). Furthermore, the image pickup system is provided with an external information interface (70) (information acquiring unit), which acquires estimating information for estimating a scene where an image is picked up. The scene is estimated using the estimating information, and image pickup control and/or signal processing control in the digital signal processing circuit (10) is performed by means of a CPU (20) (control unit). |
