PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner that can be made into an appropriate softened state in a short time, while reducing the permeation time of a fixing solution containing at least a plasticizer for softening or swelling at least part of the toner, can firmly fix an image on a recording medium to allow high-speed image formation, and can form a high-quality image, and to provide a fixing method or the like using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner is used for fixing toner on a recording medium by giving a fixing solution containing a diluting agent and a plasticizer for softening or swelling at least part of the toner to the toner on the recording medium contains at least a resin having a polyhydroxycarboxylic frame, and a coloring agent. The polyhydroxycarboxylic frame has an optical purity X (%)=¾X(L-body)-X(D-body)¾ of 80% or less, in monomer composition equivalent, wherein X(L-body) represents an L-body ratio (mol%) in optical activity monomer equivalent, and X(D-body) represents a D-body ratio (mol%) in optical activity monomer equivalent.
