<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head element operation checking mechanism capable of performing the detection of poor elements of thermal head in a thermal printer without heating the head elements. <P>SOLUTION: The head element operation checking mechanism 1 in the printer equipped with a line head 2 composed of a plurality of head elements 3-1 to 3-n includes a head control section 10 for connecting in series each of head elements 3-1 to 3-n to a checking resistance R4 with a shift register 7 and latch driver 5 which are choice sections, and an operation checking power supply VDD for applying a checking voltage to a series circuit of the checking resistance R4 and head elements 3-1 to 3-n, and a head control section 10 for measuring the partial pressure voltage of the series circuit of the checking resistance R4 and head elements 3-1 to 3-n. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
