PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can achieve a constant recording quality by avoiding the degradation of an image quality by controlling how the ink wets and spreads, and to provide a recording method thereof. SOLUTION: An image is formed on a recording medium by ejecting an ultraviolet curable ink from an inkjet head mounted on a carriage. The ink is temporarily cured by an ultraviolet irradiation device arranged in the rear in an advance direction of the inkjet head. The temporarily cured ink is completely cured by an ultraviolet irradiation device arranged ahead in the advance direction at next scan. A time difference after the ink is hit before ultraviolet rays of the temporary curing are irradiated is made small in a forward path and a backward path, thereby achieving a constant recording quality without causing image quality degradation.
