The invention relates to a splined-shaft connection between a hollow shaft or hub provided with an internal toothing system and a shaft provided with an external toothing system. In order to enable radial play compensation in the splined-shaft connection and radial support and centering of the hollow shaft or hub on the shaft, it is proposed that the two toothing systems over part of their length be opposite one another in the region of a tip-circle diameter and/or a root-circle diameter of the external toothing system with a clearance fit and in the region of the tooth flanks of the internal and external toothing system be opposite one another at a greater distance, and that the two toothing systems be opposite one another over another part of their length in the region of the adjacent tooth flanks of the internal and external toothing system with a clearance fit, while they be opposite one another in the region of the tip-circle diameter and the root-circle diameter of the external toothing system with radial play. Preferably, the splined-shaft connection is located between a camshaft and cam carriers of a valve timing mechanism, which carriers can be displaced on the camshaft, for gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine.
