<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which when started by a reverse exciting method to link a dc system to an ac system, can be started quickly to enable linkage to the ac system. <P>SOLUTION: When the power converter is started by a controller 20, an initial charge circuit 17 is supplied with power from the ac system 15 and starts charging a dc capacitor 19 of the dc system 12. When the voltage of the dc capacitor 19 becomes a square wave controllable voltage lower than a PWM controllable voltage, the controller 20 operates an inverter 11 by square wave pulses, and then closes a link breaker 14 to link the dc system 12 to the ac system 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
