摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the window member of an apparatus, which precisely detects and generates an electromagnetic wave of a band centering around a terahertz waveband, equipped with strength, chemical stability and use convenience, a sample container and a detection and generation device both of which are equipped with the same, the substrate material of a device operated by an electromagnetic wave of the terahertz waveband, and a method for calculating and evaluating the transmission characteristics of single crystal silicon carbide proposed as the window member or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Single crystal silicon carbide is used in the window member permitting the electromagnetic wave of the terahertz waveband to transmit. In the calculation of the transmission characteristics of the single crystal silicon carbide, the carrier concentration of the target crystal silicon carbide is adapted to a dielectric function to calculate the transmission characteristics. In the evaluation of the single crystal silicon carbide, the data related to a refractive index is calculated from the transmission characteristics to evaluate the characteristics as the material of the window member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
