PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device capable of distinguishing data to be initialized from data usable continuously in initialization of an EEPROM when a control program in a flash ROM is renewed. SOLUTION: In the ECU 100, data array conversion information showing change of arrangement of learning values and the like, which are stored in the EEPROM 20, by a new program is written along with the new program in the flash ROM 2, in renewal of the control program. In the first initialization processing by the control program in the flash ROM 2, data stored in the EEPROM 20 are rearranged in the arrangement order used by the new program by referring to the data array conversion information. By continuous use of previous data, deterioration of traveling feelings or a gear change shock can be prevented from continuing even if arrangement of data stored in the EEPROM 20 is changed before and after the renewal of the control program.
