PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor and a highly reliable glass insulation terminal suited to miniaturization of the compressor and a refrigerant with a high saturation pressure by improving pressure resistance of the glass insulation terminal. SOLUTION: In the hermetic compressor housing a motor part 105 and a compressor part 112 in a sealed container 101, the sealed container 101 is formed from a cylindrical container 119 with one closed end, an upper lid part 102, and the glass insulation terminal 103 attached to the upper lid part 102. A deformation quantity of the housing 109 is suppressed and leakage resistance is improved by forming a glass insulation part 110 and a supporting surface of a terminal pin part 111 of the housing 109 of the glass insulation terminal 103 into curved surface shapes.
