The present invention relates to a docking mechanism for docking a dockable transport means, comprising at least a transport undercarriage with transport means such as wheels, in safeguarded manner to a receiving location, such as a receiving location which can be arranged on a vehicle, such as a road, marine or airborne vehicle, wherein the transport undercarriage can only be transferred from a position of use to a docking position when the transport means is situated in a blocking mode relative to the receiving location, and wherein the blocking mode can be discontinued only when the transport undercarriage is situated in the position of use.
