PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and inexpensively provide an underrun prevention member appropriately suppressing damage to vehicle components caused by an underrun. SOLUTION: Since a reinforcing plate 32 bent at a substantially right angle is provided on the projecting end of a vertical plate 30, and each of a pair of side plates 34L, 34R provided at both ends of the reinforcing plate 32 is integrally welded and joined to a bumper beam 12, the vertical plate 30 and the reinforcing plate 32 are prevented from being deformed, and the underrun is appropriately prevented. The extending dimension h of the reinforcing plate 32 is smaller than the width dimension d of an upper wall 24, and this reduces the possibility that the underrun prevention member 10 projects toward the inside of the vehicle and damages the vehicle components when the bumper beam 12 is deformed toward the inside of the vehicle. Since the entire underrun prevention member 10 is integrally formed by pressing a metal plate, the prevention member 10 is easily and inexpensively manufactured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
