<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plastic scintillator member for improving a strength and a contact property of a light shielding thin film, and absorbing and suppressing aβray, and a radiation detector using the member. <P>SOLUTION: The radiation detector 10 includes: a plastic scintillator 1 whose surface is processed so as to be planar; a photoelectron multiplier 4 for converting a fluorescence into an electrical signal; a laminated thin film 11 having a reflection layer 9, a light shielding layer 12 and a protective layer 13 sequentially laminated; and a light shielding case 3 for shielding the plastic scintillator 1 and the photoelectron multiplier 4 from light.
