摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation device which achieves polymerization with high irradiation intensity, also reduces the number of ultraviolet generators, is effective in energy saving, and also achieves more uniform distribution of light quantity, a belt polymerization machine including the same, more specifically, a method for producing a polymer using the belt polymerization machine. SOLUTION: The ultraviolet irradiation device is used for continuously performing polymerization by irradiating a solution for polymerization including a polymerizable monomer supplied onto a movable belt substrate with light. The ultraviolet irradiation device is composed of an ultraviolet generator-installation chamber including ultraviolet generators which are installed in the direction for irradiating the surface of the belt substrate. The ultraviolet generator-installation chamber includes structure which allows suction and evacuation of gas between itself and the outside and structure which controls the temperature of exhaust gas to 10-60°C.
