<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device including a light guide plate, achieving compatibility between strength and light weight. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: the light guide plate 102 having an emission surface 102D emitting light to a display area DA and a plurality of side surfaces; and a plurality of light sources LEDPKG inputting light from at least one side surface. The light guide plate 102 is divided into a plurality of parts extending from the one side surface to a side surface opposite to the one side surface, and the plurality of parts include at least one first part 102A and at least one second part 102B. The first part 102A and the second part 102B are adjacent to each other and different in sectional form in the extending direction, and two-dimensionally overlap with the display area DA, respectively. At least the second part 102B has a shape for guiding the light entering the light guide plate 102 and emitting the light from an emission surface 102D, and a sectional area of a sectional shape of the first part 102A is larger than that of the second part 102B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
