PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent quality deterioration of stream data recording on a mutilayer optical recording medium having three or more layers. SOLUTION: No logical address space is allocated to an area of other recording layers overlapping, in a layer-stacking direction, with a file system area arranged in the vicinity of the ultimate logical address in the area which becomes a logical address space to record stream data. For example, the area overlapping the file system area in the layer-stacking direction is used as an alternative area.
