<p>An image pickup unit (40) for an endoscope is provided with: a dioptric system (44 (45)) which reflects the light flux incident on an optical lens group (43) of an optical image to convert the light path; a bare image sensor (46) which is joined to the dioptric system (44) and provided with a light receiving element (46a) on which the optical image is focused; and a light blocking member (50) which is disposed so as to face and cover at least surfaces around the longitudinal direction of the dioptric system (44) except for a surface joined to the image sensor (46) in such a manner that a gap (51) having a predetermined distance from the image sensor (46) is provided, the light blocking member being produced from a metallic thin film that blocks the incidence of harmful light on the light receiving element (46a). Consequently, increase in size is prevented, the possibility of the electrostatic destruction of the image sensor is prevented, and light unnecessary for the light receiving element of the image sensor is blocked, thereby making it possible to obtain a good image.</p> |
