<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide medical valves, more particularly, to substantially eliminate fluid drawback in a medical valve. <P>SOLUTION: A gland member (28) within the medical valve (10) is configured to have a substantially consistent or enlarging internal volume as the valve transitions from a closed mode to an open mode. To that end, the valve has a housing (14) forming an interior containing a flow path, and a stationary post member within the interior.
