PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a steam turbine from damage due to droplets in steam jet, particularly, water droplets, in a steam power device utilizing exhaust heat in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The steam power device 12 is operated temporarily, particularly, first at starting the operation, in a protecting operation mode for protecting the turbine 26 from damage due to droplets in priority.
