PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a user inexperienced in fire extinguishing activity cannot hold and handle a water discharge nozzle because the user receives strong water discharge reaction force when the water discharge nozzle discharges water in rod-like pattern, and to provide a water discharge nozzle that can be handled easily by everyone. SOLUTION: In a non-water discharge condition, a water discharge angle adjusting mechanism 18 of the water discharge nozzle holds an outer cylinder 24 at a predetermined retreated initial position by releasing engagement between a screw groove 25 of the outer cylinder 24 and a ball 32. When water discharge is started, an inner cylinder 26 moves forward due to water supply pressure, the ball 32 is extruded and the ball engages with the screw groove 25 of the outer cylinder 24. At the same time, a deflector 28 moves forward and wide angle water discharge pattern is set. By rotating and moving the outer cylinder 24 forward during water discharge, the deflector 28 is regulated and wide angle water discharge is changed into rod-like water discharge. When water discharge is stopped, engagement between the screw groove 25 of the outer cylinder 24 and the ball 32 is released and the outer cylinder 24 and the inner cylinder 26 are returned to initial positions by first and second return springs 38 and 40.
