PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in detecting a weight of a vehicle body even with relatively simple construction. SOLUTION: In a vehicle 11, a vehicle body 13 is elastically supported on wheels 12 via a suspension 14 having a spring. A control unit (CPU) of an eco-driving system takes in a detected signal of an acceleration sensor 21 of an air bag system during a certain period of deceleration of the vehicle 11 and immediately after stopping (until vibration in a front-back direction attenuates and stops) and memorizes the signal waveform and computes a relation between an oscillation frequency and an oscillating intensity (amplitude) by fast Fourier transform to calculate a resonance frequency. Then the weight of the vehicle body 13 is determined by comparing the calculated resonance frequency with a pre-memorized reference resonance frequency under a condition of no loading of baggage.
