The disclosed cutting insert is provided with: an upper surface, a side surface having a second side surface, and a cutting blade having a second flat cutting edge and a second main cutting blade which are located at the line of intersection between the second side surface and the upper surface. The second side surface has a second chamfered side surface, a second corner side surface and a second main side surface. The line of intersection between the second side surface and the upper surface has a first line of intersection, which is between the second chamfered side surface and the upper surface, and a second line of intersection, which is between the second corner side surface and the upper surface. The second flat cutting edge is positioned so as to span from the first line of intersection to the second line of intersection, and, from the side view, the lowermost section thereof is in the first line of intersection. Further disclosed are a cutting tool provided with the cutting insert, and a method for producing a cut product using the cutting tool. |
