PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system with successful communication efficiency. SOLUTION: A television receiver 10 includes: a channel selection part 64 which selects at least one channel which can be used for radio communication from channels for television broadcast; and a selected channel transmitting part 68 which transmits information on the channel selected by the channel selection part 64 to communication equipment 80 where the communication equipment 80 includes: a selected channel receiving part 82 which receives information on the channel transmitted by the selected channel transmitting part 68; a communication channel selection part 84 which selects a channel to be used when communication is performed with the other communication equipment based on the information on the channel received by the selected channel receiving part 82; and a communication part 86 which communicates with the other communication equipment using the channel selected by the communication channel selection part 84.
