PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of preventing the quality of a light emitting part from being erroneously discriminated even though a common initial gain is set in a signal amplifying part when lamp check processing for discriminating the quality of the light emitting part for projecting light to an original is performed both before and after adjusting the gain of the signal amplifying part for amplifying an image signal. SOLUTION: A signal amplifying part 310 performs update from an initial gain to an adjusted gain in accordance with the level of an image signal to be outputted. An image processing part 320 selects one of two types of thresholds for specifying the allowable range of the level of the image signal in accordance with a situation in which the gain of signal amplification is set to either the initial gain or the adjusted gain. Further, the image processing part 320 uses the selected threshold to discriminate whether the level of the image signal outputted from the signal amplifying part is within the allowable range when the light emitting part projects light on a reference surface.
